I think we know what the deciding thing is in this.

Your wife/girlfriend/idiot friends can drive your automatic.

Any idiot thief can steal your automatic.

You have to be more aware of your car in a stick shift.

Your stick shift is less likely to be stolen.

I must admit, I do like the fact that few people can drive my car, especially my wife....(I didn't say that, honey). LOL!

I have an auto...wish a could drive it as a manual once in a while but the wifey absolutely can't drive stick and the car is "ours" and it's a recreational weekend vehicle. I'd rather suffer (if that's what you call suffering) and drive it auto so my wife can enjoy the car too.

I would think with todays technology they would have come up with a true manual trans that can switch to an auto when need be, similar to the oposite which is on many car nowadays - i.e. auto with the tiptronic trans. Somebody invent that please!

Prefer manual, own an auto. Got 5k lower price on a car with less miles and in better shape than the manual I was looking at. That's why I went with the auto. Next 'stang will be a manual.

Manual only. Esp in a sports car. 5 stangs no auto yet. Love banging gears. 9 cars total and all manuals.

I'm the opposite from the OP, after a long days hard work I can't wait to drive my car regardless of the traffic with a manual. the first three letters are man, after all!

but really, automatic are sooooooooooooo boring. but I actually enjoy driving, It's not a chore or some annoying task to only get you from point a to point b. It's a giant game to me and I love pretty much every minute of it.

I need a ratchet shifter....cus it would be easier than switching too a manual transmission lol., again for the price I paid; I had no choice in manual or auto. it is what it is.

I prefer a manual but bought an auto. No plans to put it on the track, just want it to look and sound good. My kids can't drive a stick and I did not wanting them trying to learn on mine in case of an emergency. Plus I am getting old.
