Default Purchasing advice on 2012 GT...

So I'm trying to get back in a mustang. Looking at a 2012 with MSRP of $31,200. Dealer is saying selling price is $29,567 and after 3K rebate down to $26,567. Is this as good as it gets? Would I be crazy if I offered 25K? Thanks for any advice or recent purchase info.

it depends on how badly they want to unload it. imo - 26.5 is already a screaming deal. I am not sure there is any money to be made for them if they let you talk them down further.

one way to find out. it does not hurt to ask. make a serious offer and see how they respond.

I would have bought a 2012 GT if I could have got $26.5 and leather seats, that is a great price.

It's a base GT, cloth seats, 6speed manual(MT82 still worries me...)Only options are, $695 Optional Equipment RR sensing sys/security system, anti theft, wheel lock kit, reverse park assist. It's white though and that's what I want! Thanks guys.

Id say that price is about as low as you'll get them. I negotiated on a 12 this past saturday, with no options, and the lowest they would go was 26550 after rebates. Ended up with this instead, gt premium with brembo package. Its got the MT82, and it smooth as butter so far.
