Default 2008 GT Nose dive when on the brakes

Hey Guys,

I'm wondering, this is my first GT in many many years, and I'm curious if it's normal for the nose to dive when you get on the brakes a little firmer than normal braking. It's an '08 GT Premium with 48,000 miles. She just seems to want to drop her nose when braking a little more aggressively than normal road braking. I've always thought that brake energy and braking handling suffer when you get a nose dip when applying brakes....any comments?

Shocks feel good driving, but maybe need replacement. Any advise is appreciated. It's a little annoying, and I like to stiffen it up so this wont happen....

Thanks,
Todd

Some nose dive is normal under heavy braking with these cars. But if it's excessive there's probably a reason. Sounds like you maybe bought the car used? Do you know if it has a control arm relocation kit on the rear axle? Those improve track launches, but there's a trade off in increased braking nose dive.

Sounds like a good excuse to upgrade the shocks & struts. Koni STR.Ts are nice.

Now thats a great way of explaining it. I sure hope you didnt go through all that trouble at a track and pic taking on my account... It's not too bad, just thought it would be nice if I could stop it...

Purchased the car used in October 2011, so I'm still learning all the details about it...

Thanks for the continued information

Todd

A set of lowering springs would also greatly reduce the nose dive. Eibach Pro-Kit!
