I pulled my spec stage 2 today. I thought it was worn out, but instead, it appears it got some oil contamination from the grease I tried to use to pop out the pilot bearing. The grease I couldn't get out of the crank cavity turned back into oil and slowly leaked out onto the flywheel and clutch disk.
So in this instance, it really was install error. I could have kept driving on it, but the chatter was getting worse and it wasn't grabbing on takeoff like it used to.
I have my own bearing puller/slide hammer now, so a new pilot bearing has been installed. I should have the new spec stage 3+ installed tomorrow. Wish I had known it was my own stupidity, I would have ordered another stage 2. Clutch has 20k miles on it, some of that with drag radials, 1 trip to the track.

Spec is now including pilot bearings with their clutches. If you get one, through that **** away! It is cheap crap compared to the ford part. I all ready had a replacement pilot bearing and the spec supplied one feels like plastic in comparison.

At least white bread will heat up and turn to dust, not seperate into a honey like oil and leak out on your clutch disk.
This is what I used. it was on sale for $39 when I bought it.

worked great, except the bearing came out in two pieces, so I had to use a small abor and then a larger one. Works great for removing motorcycle wheel bearings too.
I didn't even put any grease on the input shaft this time, just a little, and I mean little bit of copper anti-seize.
