Broken rear defroster lead...best fix?

Question Broken rear defroster lead...best fix?

Never fixed such a thing before...any idea's or solutions would be helpful.

Proper way to repair that is to solder the tab back onto the glass. The metallic grid is silk screened on the window so be careful not to scratch it. If you try it yourself you should use a decent iron that will melt the solder quickly without spending too much time getting the glass overheated.

I had that same problem on my car and picked up a kit from frostfighter.com

Worked great - did the repair two years ago, after the dealer repair job failed a second time.

Use at least a 100W iron with a broad tip to heat it up quickly
without spreading too much heat to the surrounding grid.

But after reading through that, and having the dealer do that repair on mine - twice - and having it fail within a year again, I found the Frost Fighter kit easy to use and has lasted.
