Default Full throttle voids warranty?

I heard from somewhere that new mustangs have a hidden logic in the ecu that going wot for longer than 10 seconds leans out the motor and voids the warranty. Anyone know anything about this?

I've personally NEVER heard this. Why would you buy a Mustang if you can't go WOT?...so confused, lol

I seriously doubt they have an intentional "booby trap". I wouldn't be surprised if some dealers are trying to intimidate people though.

And 10 seconds is a long time to be WOT, assuming you lift between shifts, only the overdrive gears may allow a WOT pull longer than 10.

Any gear besides 6th in the new mustang at 10 seconds and you have probably passed the redline anyways.

I think its BS. and if it was true, time to load up with c-4 and drive it into the dealership...better yet c-4 and feces.

Auto's would stay open for 10 seconds easily. My warranty is long gone, but I would of lost it leaving the dealers lot LOL

First of all, no program would lean-out on purpose under WOT; that'd destroy the engine potentially. Now you can bump up against speed and rev limiters and that'll cut power and limit any further speed or RPMs, but that's built-in intended protection.

And 10 seconds WOT with an automatic is not much time.

Really, I would tell your "somewhere" that it's BS !! And, even if were true, a good Tuner can work miracles these days !!!
