Default New Tires?

Hi All

I have needed to get some new tires for my GT for a while now and I usually replace them two at a time when needed but I am thinking of getting something different now from the BFGoodrich G-Force t/a KDW , they look great but seem to wear pretty fast even on normal driving and I don't think they make this exact tire anymore.

Does anyone have any other tire suggestions I can take a look at, like I said I really like the look of the KDW's so something similar in appearance would be nice. The model I was using were 275/35zr/18.

Also do you think it will look a little strange with two different tires at the back to the front? It will just be till I need to replace the front two.

Thanks

Stu

In the market for some new meats too. I ran across a great deal on tirerack. May be able to a full set for this price.

They're slightly taller though. .7" taller. But, I'm going to 4.10s soon so the taller tire isn't as big a deal for me.

Yokohama S. drives. I love these tires. The traction in the wet and dry is outstanding. They are a summer tire, which is all you need being in Florida.

All summer only performance tires have a short life compared to all-seasons. You have to decide what's most important to you. I chose nice all seasons because my car is a daily driver and I needed consistent traction in all weather, and I didn't feel like spending $$ on tires every 15,000-20,000 miles. I live in STL, so my situation is a little different than yours, but every time it dropped to 50 degrees, I had horrible traction with the summer only Pirelli's (as expected).

It's a performance car Mr. Sandman.

Here's the S. drives in action. All season pirellis would spin all day, without any squeal, smoke or traction. It got down to 17*F here in January and traction was a non issue. I don't drive my car everyday, so I don't need, nor want a 60,000 mile tire, but I see no reason why I can't get 30k out of a summer tire, if I don't beat on it every time. Putting about 6,000 miles a year on my car, It would take 10 years to wear out a 60k tire. I won't use a tire that long.

Anyway, the OP was using a summer tire.

These Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons get more consistent traction than the summer only pirellies did. What's the use of a tire that is effective in the Midwest about 20% of the year. I drive 40 miles a day...and would rather not guess when I'm going to go sideways. Say what you will, but unless you've had both the summer only pirellies and the MPS tires on the same car..you can't make any assumptions.

One of my customers has us order him a set of those tires for his Audi A6, different size but same tire.
I think his were $147 per tire and I thought that was a good price for that tire.

I would expect they will sell out of those pretty quick.
