Well, when I took it out for the test drive, Superstitious was playing on the radio, and my mom pointed out that it was black, like black magic. Hence, Voodoo.

Naming a car has always seemed a little strange to me. There can be only one "Eleanor" and never ever ever ever name your car after your wife!!

If a car gets a nick name that's good it usually comes from it's appearance or some sort of event, mishap or situation.

Amen! It kind of ticks me off when people do that... Especially v6's...

My friend calls my Shelby "Pepe" ...took them for their first ride...opened it up full boost and hooked a couple of gears...i got the normal "OMG" response...I was laughing and quoted the line from Romancing the Stone..."Now Pepe is warming up" the name stuck ...

I'm not big on names but to each their own, I agree with Diabolical. Could we all agree that men should not refer to their car as their "baby" though!

Athena came from a race with an Eleanor body style Mustang that occurred for me. Basically my friends described the supercharger scream from my car, for some reason, to a scream of a goddess (haha) and so for some reason the first one mentioned was Athena. Simply put... it stuck and basically became the nickname for my car. Haven't cared to think of name other than it. So Athena it is.
