Default 2013 Heat Extractors

This may be a silly question, but since I don't recall hearing anything about it while reasing about the 2013, will rain and snow getting inside the vents hurt the engine?

No it won't hurt the engine. The vents are functional, but on the under side there is an underhood section that makes it so rain or anything coming into the hood from the vents is funneled to the side of the engine compartment. I'll try and take pics of mine tomorrow for you.

These would be pretty bad *** to add to the 2011/12 power dome hood.

I recently visited a Chicago-area Ford dealer after it had rained b/c I was concerned about this very issue of water entering the engine compartment. While it's true there is a headliner mounted to the underside of the hood, this semi-permeable material was really soaked when I had the salesman pop the hood. Plus, all of the water the headliner collected ran down toward the firewall when the hood was lifted. I really wanted to order a 2013 but I remain worried over the integrity of this headliner and whether it will hold up with repeated soakings and then the intense heat that follows when the engine is running. Does anyone know if a non-vented hood can be ordered in the GT package?
