Default oil & gas gauge not working....

ok, its been going on for awhile but now its just driving me crazy. When the car was cold, the oil and gas gauge would either not move or go crazy and be all the way over to one sid or the other. However, when the car got warmed up, it would work just fine. But today (its been around 90 degrees) the oil and gas gauge were pegged all the way over to the right when i started it up at lunch. Soon as I came back from lunch, gauges are working. Wtf is going on ? thanks guys

Do a forum search on stepper motors. The 05's are notorious for stepper motor failures in the gauge pod.

Yea and the oil gauge is not really a gauge at all.
Its just a glorified idiot lamp.
05s are notorious for the steppers to go bad.
