Quick question. Dealnews found a deal today for 5plus quarts of Valvoline Next Gen Oil (recycled) for free after mail in rebate. It's 5w-20 which works in the GT, but is it okay to put regular oil in this car. Free after rebate seems darn good to pass up but should I run synthetic or is it okay to run regular oil?
Never heard of recycled oil, but if you have been using syntehic I wouldn't change back and fourth. It comes with a synthetic blend, so I would use at least that.
I dont know if this has anything to do with the recycled oil but when it was used in my fathers Dodge truck and my brothers Mustang it seemed like there was excessive valve train noise. Needless to say, they both switched it out with a Syn blend because they did not want to risk anything. But, that is just my experience. Personally, i wont touch the stuff. If you do go with the recycled, just keep a close eye on everything.
