Quality of 2010+ GT
#12
I'm about 16500 miles in on my 2011 GT and overall I'd say I'm very satisfied for the money. There are a couple noises that bother me in the cabin that I guess could be called rattles, but I can't complain too much since I haven't even bothered to go after their source.
Other than that, I haven't been to the dealer once with it for any issues on the car. I've changed my oil a couple times now and do regular checks on it to make sure everything is working and running well. Only problem I had related to the car was trying to get Ford to give me a new wheel lug wrench. Thing they give you in the trunk is a POS, I bent it putting on wheels after 1 tire rotation. Unfortunately it's not covered by the warranty so I had to replace it with a well made 4-way, probably worth it though.
As an aside though, if reliability is what you're critically after, then American cars IMO still aren't quite there. My mom drives and owns a camry and having abided by the routine maintenance schedule, it honestly rides and sounds just the same as when it left the factory floor. Her car is coming up on 4 years old now. All the power to American companies for finally stepping up quality but they are having to catch up, they aren't setting standards.

2009 GT, ~24500 miles. One issue was a dead battery and it was my fault. Over winter break I used vacation time from work so I didn't need to drive anywhere for about a month. I let it die. My only other issue was the sun shade for my glass roof ripped the first time I tried to pull it forward, the dealer had pushed it too far back and bent something during my test drive. Both were resolved under warranty. Both issues were not the car's fault.

I've had mine for a little over a year and over 13,000 miles and zero issues, go to automd look up tsbs and recalls there, look into the quality control ford has been doing recently, the new ford interior quality on the premium rivals Audi...

"it wouldn't start randomly" sounds like you didn't even try to find the problem, let alone fix it yourself. that's perfectly fine but your asking a group of people who would have probably tried to do something about it (this being a mustang forum and all) so maybe you should talk to some other people about it who wouldn't have such biased opinions.

I still get a big kick out of people that say "I have 13,000 miles..." or "I have 25,000 miles..." along with "... and haven't had a problem."
It's when you can say that you've had 6 vehicles, 3 of them over 200,000 miles and 3 others with at least 150,000 miles and still no problems that you can truely boast. I can.

Ive had my 2010 GT Premium since July of 09 and it was built in June of 09. I purchased it in Morgan HIll, CA and I drove it from Gilroy, CA to Monterey, CA every day for almost a year and had no issues with it. When I took it to Ford for oil changes and things, they said that the car was like new and they were shocked that I didn't drive it hard and abuse it. I drove it from California to North Carolina where I live now and I have about 63,000 miles on it and it's still like new. This car is WAY more durable than my old 98 GT and I don't want to talk about that steaming pile....

Nuke, I luv ya man...
But the OP asked about the quality of new Mustangs. The responses of new Mustang owners are, of course, limited to relatively low mileage cars. Such as in my case:
2010 GT, DD, 38,000 miles, zero problems.
I will report back in a few years when I cross 150,000!

I purchased a 12 and it's been in the shop 2 times for electrical issues.... They still cannot figure out what's wrong with it, but warranty and loaners.... what more can you ask for? It's a new model and will have kinks, that's reality. They will soon be resolved...Always remember you will see more negative responses then positive. Millions of the 5.0's are on the road without issues.
Yes, they're a lot of TSB's, but they're fixing them. I prefer to stay stock and not void my warranty for this particular reason.
Just a FYI
My 99 GT 0 issues and sold at 167k
My 07 0 issues and sold at 42K
And I drive the cars hard like they're meant to be driven.
