Quality of 2010+ GT
#21
"Millions of the 5.0's are on the road without issues. " might be a bit of an exaggeration. Thousands yes, millions maybe if you include all of the Ford cars from 2010+ . Ford has stepped up the quality of their manufacturing process and their materials/design of the interior and exterior body panels over the past few years without increasing the price too much. This let them increase sales in the European market (a much more scrutinizing market IMO) and kept ford from getting the government bailout. So yes, ford's quality has improved.
Something else to consider is the aesthetics, I find, are more apealing in new ford vehicles compared to honda or toyota of comparable classes. And they are roughly the same price. Just another initial quality measurement to use.
To the OP, if you are considering purchasing a mustang, and the alternative is a camry/accord/altima, it may be worth revisiting your reasons for getting a mustang and what the intended use of the vehicle is for. To me it would seem odd to say "I looked at a mustang and almost pulled the trigger, but got scared away by model problems and bought a camry instead." No offense intended, just seemed odd.
