2 weeks with my 2012 Mustang GT
Today is 2 weeks with my 2012 Mustang GT premium. It is 6 spped with reverse camera, comfort seats, and the Brembo package. Man is it a sweet ride! This is not my first Mustang. Back in 1990 when I was just out of college I purchased a new 1990 Mustang GT. I paid a whopping $15995 for a black, 5 speed, with cloth interior and sunroof! I kept it for 5 years and afterwards had about 15 cars, maybe more, and one of those was a 1998 Mustang GT. Man that car really SUCKED!! Talk about SLOW!!!! Fast forward 22 years and I'm back where I started! This car does the "5.0" moniker some justice!!!!
In my 2 weeks of ownership I've changed the exhaust...SURPRISE!!!!! After listening to several sound clips. I decided to go with Dynomax axlebacks. I chose these because on my first Mustang GT I had Dynomax mufflers and I really like how they sound back then. So I decided to give'm another try. I really like the way these sound on the new Coyote engine. They are not very loud, but they are much deeper than the stock mufflers. The car really growls once you get on it, but quiets down considerably afterwards. I have not noticed any drone. These axlebacks are probably too tame for most of you. Dynomax claims a hp gain, but I can't verify that. Check out their website for those details. Also, they do not show a fitment for the 2012's, but I decided to take a chance. Soundwise it was a good choice, but as for fitment...not so good. I do not like the way they hang under the car. Instead of hanging parallel to the ground they're at an angle for some reason. My installer had to bend one of the hangers on the driver side to solve a terrible rattling issue that arose a day later. Maybe that's why their fitment guide starts and stops with the 2011's. But, after the hanger was heated and bent it solved the rattling issue. I tried to make a sound clip, but it did not come out too good. I'll try again when I get a chance.
Yesterday I sealed the paint and waxed it with a premium carnuba wax. Both products where from Griot's Garage. I appiled both products with my orbital buffer.
Cya!!!

I tried to add photos to my above thread, but as you can see it didn't work. Man, all these forums use different "rules" to add photos. This one in particular seems primitive. I'll figure it out later. Below is a link to my Forum Album.

Thanks for the info and pics. I'm totally with you about the sound. I want a nice tone but not obnoxiously loud, and relatively quiet at highway speeds and when I'm not banging through the gears. I'm sorry to hear about your fitment issues. It's hard to tell from the pics but they look great to me.
I want to add a backup camera at some point. I wonder what it would cost to buy the wing with the backup camera installed, and add a compatible rear view camera mirror?
I've found the best way to add pictures to a thread is to host them from a photobucket or imgur account, then use the IMG code links to display them.

My only mods to come will be tint and louvers. No CAI or tune. I did both when I had my '08 Charger Super Bee. I had Flowmaster Super 44's with reso delete on the Bee, man did it sound good! But, for some reason I don't want my Stang to be as loud. The way I see it my car will be really special because everyone with a Mustang mods the HE$$ of their cars! It's RARE to find one unmolested...think about it.
