Default blown engine block in my '07 gt

first and foremost, i haven't been to this page in almost a decade and i'm so surprised it's still here. very suprised i remembered my log in. site looks great!!!

now to the bs.

just purchased an 07 gt, auto, that was built at brenspeed in IN. the original owner who did the work traded it in (with 8,000 miles) to a dealership, where the previous owner bought it (whom i bought it off with 18,000 miles)
it was a stage 3 set up with saleen supercharger, cams, and 2000rpm stall converter. stock heads and internals. not sure the psi. i think it was around 8-12 boost but not sure what tune was in the car from the sct tuner. it was running rough when i purchased it so i changed the plugs and put 93 octane in it and it fixed it a great deal. put 100 miles on it and going up a hill under normal driving conditions and it blew a connecting rod through both sides of the block.

my question now is... what should i do? from the most cost effective route to spending up to $9,000 to fix it. i have an appt to fix it back at brenspeed, buying the aluminator small block 5.0 and them doing all the labor and dyno tuning it for a little under 9g's.

i'm just looking for any and all suggestions of what to properly do to get this thing back to running condition as the beast of the nice/weekend day driver she was that ran 12's in street tires.

thanks everyone. good to be back on the board, but i wish it was under diff. circumstances

Sorry for the loss....that sucks. You should try to find out why it blew. As we all know used cars are always a risk .....and it sucks it blew so soon but putting a proper motor in there will make it quite the beast. Also realize that trans can only handle 450 ft.lbs, keep it safe IMO. Good luck.

i think having brenspeed install the B302 shortblock and
then dyno tuning it, is a very good plan.

hope all goes well and keep us posted
