LOL, no I think that was a joke / rumor a few links above . I just wanted to put this out there for informational purposes since there seems to be a lot of different info out there. Remember this add on to the user's guide only applies for the 2013 GT's with the track package. The extra .5 quarts of oil is for the oil cooler.

I think because you've got the track pack, they're treating the recommended oil weight as they would their track mustang, the Boss. A lot of track people run 5-50 or a similar weight.

Thought I'd share the following.
I'm sure there are some of you out there that already know and have heard of "Bob the Oil Guy". His site "Motor Oil University" can help you understand the varying grades of oil and the differences between 5w-20 grade oil and 5w-50 grade oil plus any other thing you want to know about oils. It's some good reading. Motor Oil 101 can be seen at the site below.

Hah! I thought not! Ferrari Enzo. Shell 10w-60. Castrol 0w-30. At least on those days he's not driving his new Rolls.

If you are just running up to the store to get milk in your Enzo, then 10w60 probably isn't necessary. If you are pounding on it at the track or street, then 0w30 is going to shorten your engines life.

I finally got a chance to read it. What he fails to really get into in the difference in film strength between a 5w20, 0w30 and 10w60 at extreme temperatures (302*F, his number). 1-2cs difference in viscosity between the thinner and thicker oil may not seem like much, but the difference in film strength could result in a spun bearing.

I'm sure any oil will do if you are just cruising down the strip in your Enzo. Guy sounds like a complete tool. He's no more an expert on oil than you or I. He's a doctor, not a big fan.

By the way, my Buell specs a 20w50, but I use 10w40 mobil 1 4T. Harley specified 20w50 because that is what they sell for all their air cooled v-twins. They don't sell a 10w40, so even though it may very well be the best viscosity for my motor, they don't recommend it because they don't have it.

Just like Harley, I don't believe Ford specs 5w20 because it will do the best job. It is good enough or rather the bare minimum and they can say it get's 18mpg in the city instead of 17.
