I do a lot of reading on this site but I rarely if ever post but I had two quick questions I couldn't really find an answer to on google/forum searches.

1. I am hearing a lot of clatter/clicking from up front. It's not the valves clicking because I can't hear the clicking when the car is idling in neutral and I'm on the outside, although I know the valves click some but when I'm accelerating you can't really hear the noise obviously the car is too loud but when I'm in a lower gear engine braking to a red light, you can hear the loud clatter coming from up front and even if I'm driving and I pass by a wall beside me with the windows down, you can hear the clicking. It's not really effecting anything or the drivability, it's just annoying to hear when you have the windows down. Any ideas what this could be or is it normal? It's a 5 speed with 4.10's by the way.

2. No matter if it is cold/hot outside, if the engine is cold (like my first startup of the day) when I crank the car it idles all the way to 2100,2300 RPM and then settles back down after about 10 seconds or if I press the gas lightly it will shoot down to the normal 750-1000 range. Is there an idle valve that I need to clean or is this normal? Sometimes when I crank up the car near people its kind of embarrassing when it revs that high, people think I'm trying to attract attention and look at me funny.

Just wanted to know any thoughts on those 2 questions. May seem trivial or silly (I know, no question is a stupid question) but just wanted to get some thoughts. Other than these 2 things I baby the crap out of this car.
