How do you get into engineering test mode?

well, what deos the traction control system use to know that the car has lost traction, or the ABS system use to know it needs to go into ABS mode? I htink all the sensors are there and have been there for at least the last 2 generations. I've got a 0-60 and quarter mile mode on my aeroforce gauge that gets it's info from the OBDII port. I guess the only thing that might be missing is a lateral G-force reading?

Someone asked the Ford reps tonight at the MOCSEM meeting about the track app in earlier Mustangs and they said "can't do it, too many sensors you would have to add". I can't remember if the question was specific to any one year or series though (like 2005-09 or 2010 or 2011-12)

Not to mention the track app system will require a 4 way control on the steering wheel and the associated wiring.

+1. Look at the size of a Wiimote/DualShock3 video game controller. The gyro sensors needed for those kinds of measurements do not take up much room at all, and are inexpensive enough that I would think they could be bundled in.

But, I've been wrong before.
