I ended up with the car. got to speak with a guy my dad worked with and ended up paying 15107 out the door with license, fees, documentation. Was a way better deal than some I saw today. Cant wait to put up pics.

Congrats on the car! Just keep an eye out for the quirks the early S197s had.

The price depends greatly on the area you are in too. Not a lot of mustangs where I live so they are usually pretty expensive. The blue book on my mustang without mods is almost 17k in my area. But a friend of mine in texas sees them all the time for as low as 11k

I think you got a great deal. That's low miles for that year. I have an 05. I love mine. I wonder what quirks some are referring to on here about the early S197s? I am new to the forum so I will research this. One I can tell ya is to watch out for your leather door trim. I just did the sag fix listed in this forum. Which is why I became a member actually. Have fun!!

*Edit* What I get for not reading.
I paid 12.5 for my 06 GT Auto with 83,XXX here in Dallas. It was a Chevy dealer and they wanted it gone so they reduced it.
Seconded on the pics!

wow... I'm kindof surprised at how high some of these prices are! I bought my '05 GT convertible about 3 years ago for $16k... and that was with only 23k miles on it... in LOS ANGELES no less! Has 20" rims, Saleen style bar, painted mirrors, & Shaker 1000 audio (meh)... currently has about 28k miles on it.
