From the installation of your cams, could you have created a vacuum leak? I would listen under the hood while running. Look around the intake and throttle area. Any vacuum leak would make the idle surge or hunt. The idle strategy is new with the retune so it would take some running for it to relearn. When you cleaned the throttle body ,do not open with your hand or fingers. Let the motor open it to clean it. Turn the key on and have someone or something hold the throttle open while you clean it. You can damage the throttle unit by forcing it open. Just an FYI.

It will but it's not safe and you won't get the most out of the cams without a tune.

And it would, IMO the #1 maker and killer of idle issues is longtubes which you don't appear to have. My buddy had hotrods and could re-flash and go, I have LT's and cant. Its all due to the front O2 placement.

By the looks of his sig, it looks like he just drove around for a little bit before he got a dyno tune.

Trust me, it is!

These ECU's are really smart, and can re-learn idle almost instantly after a reflash. However, the reason its so smart is because it does all its learning via the front O2's. Since LT's move them really far away, it takes longer to get the car to learn and the heaters for the front O2's need to be on longer in the tune.

Am I too late for the party?

Try the "idle relearning procedure". It worked for me.
