I will never own anothe car that isnt a vert. I am on my 3rd mustang vert right now. The people have spoken, yes, its nice to put the top down during the day but, those warm summer nights with the top down are damn near unforgettable. Talk about fun and relaxing and enjoyable and every other word that makes you have good feelings.. wow.

In total agreement with the other vert owners that convertible is the way to go. As far as cruising goes, its morning or night cruising here in Dallas. Any day rides will get your butt burnt right up out of the car. These Texas summers are miserable.

Vert all the way. I bought my first vert in December last year and have been enjoying it all summer. A convertible can do basically everything a coupe can do, but then you get this insanely awesome super pleasurable bonus at the press of a button. It instantly puts a smile on your face and cranks up the fun factor of anything you do. They're fantastic.

I have been considering purchasing a 2013 GT Convertible for a few months now. I came close a few times with ordering exactly what I wanted, but I keep backing out. I still can't believe I'm thinking about spending $40k on a Mustang. I've gone back and fourth from Convertibles to Coupes, to Glass Roofs, but I keep coming back to the convertible. I've never owned a convertible so it's one factor in moving forward with this car.
Is this a fair deal? I offered $900 less then this offer. I'm scheduled to meet with the dealership tomorrow and see if they'll take $39k. If they do I'll probably get this car tomorrow morning.
I need that extra push from the Mustang crowd to help convince me that this is a good idea and a fair price. I purchase new cars all the time, but this will be my first sports car that I will also use as a daily driver.

You can't go wrong my friend, just got my silver with black interior, 6 speed, premium GT convertible about a month back after impatiently waiting 8 weeks for it's manufacture. I've driven over 4200 miles since that time and can honestly say it is 3 times the car my 99 GT convertible was, in handling, ride, road noise, etc. The 5.0 engine is worth the price of admission, one of the smoothest V8's I have ever driven with a great sound track. The new 6 speed manual is unusually slick and the clutch take-up is very forgiving. The fuel efficiency is better than expected for such a powerful engine, in steady driving on interstate roads I have seen 28 mpg or more on the computer which is verified upon doing the math. Go get it!

I get the track benefits of a full body...
But I feel sorry for folks that are insecure enough that they let other insecure people tell them that their car needs a metal top in order to look tough to insecure people

I was in the same boat...took me 4 months before I finally did it. If your anything like me GET WHAT YOU WANT NOW! If your spending that much money...don't have any regrets. You are not going to see one driving down the road and say "I wish I..." Too many times I bought cars and I came back 6 months later to get the options I wanted or the engine size I wanted etc. ...I'm actually doing it again "I wish I got a 2013" but you can never really keep up, there is always something new.
I hear ya about the $40,000 investment. I also felt like I was nuts. Sometimes I still do....but I got EVERYTHING I wanted and I'm 110% happy with what I got.
If it helps I paid about 42K for mine and it had some extras:
2011 convertible GT manual
side scoops
navigation
comfort package..heated seats etc
yellow paint (its actually $500 more than any other color)
HID lights
premium package
its not a 2013.... but I still I love my car.
hope that helps ya out. GOOD LUCK!!
