TSB 5.0 powertrain warranty void....
So, I have an "airbag" warning sensor going off in my car. And I am running a Brenspeed 93 tune in my car. I would like to think that my tune has nothing to do with the airbag. So I am going to take my car to the dealer ( after putting on the factory air box and stock tune) and have them look at it. I start to search for common issues, and I see that ford put out a TSB for owners that modify their cars.
I know that when I had my 2005 and I retuned the car the dealer will be able to see that there is no history prior to my retune. Can someone give me some insight on this? what kind of red flags will pop up when I take it in?
Or am I thinking about this too hard?
Thanks

This one? https://mustangforums.com/mustang-ts...OMPONENTS.html
Just powertrain related. Can only really deny work, and "supposed" to only deny warranty work for the listed specific issue(s) related to anything aftermarket that could have caused it.
As siggy states, worrying too much. I never once flashed mine back to stock for warranty work when it was still under it. Were any of the first ones ticking noises or similar powertrain specific possible nightmares I might have re-thought it, but other than that..

If it were me, I'd just bring it in as-is with the mods. Should there ever be a major engine failure, they WILL find out anyway. I've always subscribed to the theory that being honest and not trying to hide the mods could help you in the long run in these cases. If they have to ship an ECU to Ford for forensics and have you there playing "dumb", when they do find out the truth, they are certainly going to deny work anyway. They may do this regardless, but I think being honest and having an open discussion might help... just some random thoughts.

That TSB is specific to piston ring damage, you shouldn't have any issues with the air bag. Even returning it to stock wouldn't save you there. You should have no issues with this, if you do let us know.
