I bought a 4 year ext warranty and when I traded in my GT I called them and they gave me back a pro-rated portion of the unused warranty.
I don't recall ever seeing the ability to get back money if an ext warranty goes unused.

But I never buy a Ford warranty at a dealership.

I got a 2 years extended warranty, but it was for all the electronics and such as that. not engine or such. I'll have to look up the info on that to see what I find.

I cashed in my extended warrenty from Hyundai when i traded in my genesis coupe. I got a prorated portion back from my gap coverage and extended warrenty. Had the car 3 years and 36,000 miles. Just bought a 2012 gt and they didnt say anything of any sorts about getting 1600 back for not using my extended warrenty.

You admitted that YOU missed the date set forth in the agreement, yet you "lost respect" for Ford because of it.

Make absolutely zero sense to me.

If you bought an TV with a one year waranty, it broke during the warranty period but you didn't take it in until after the year was up, would you "lose respect" for THAT retailer, too?

Never, never, never buy an extended warranty. They rarely ever pay off.

they pay off in peace of mind.

If you don't worry about things possibly (likely) breaking then don't worry, be happy.

Those of us who see how many cars have an issue, and will likely cost almost as much as a warranty to repair, will take the peace of mind.

What kind of esp would give you back $1600 anyway? the dealer dropped the agreed selling price on my 08 by the amount it would cost to buy the ESP so I would buy it and it was only $1k.
