I have a Detroit locker in mine and 90% of the time its fine. I would not recommend it to anyone who gets bothered by noises, clunks, clanks and some jerking motions from time to time .

I should have gotten a gear driven LSD instead.

When people start getting 60' times in the 1.6 range, the stock rear end fail. For most here the stock diff is just fine. Put carbon fiber clutches in and drive the hell out of it.

I just had to pull out the WaveTrac differential. There is a problem with the design of how the c-clips hold the axles in place. They can travel side to side on the carrier. I believe they are working on the fix.

I put in the gear driven Eaton TruTrac and it is great. Just a little hum downshifting and coasting. But that was to be expected. Also, use regular gear oil, not synthetic with this unit.

Good to know. I've been planning on putting that differential in when mine goes out.

We tried 2 different differential designs. The issue is that there is nothing in between the axle buttons to lock them in place like the other differentials.

The axles were moving enough to rub the rotor on the caliper and the back of the lug nuts on the abs sensor.

Wow. I have a buddy who runs a wavetrac in a 9" on the back of his GT500. I'm gonna have to see if the 9" has similar issues as your 8.8". Again, thanks for the heads up.

The 9 inch Wavetrac is a great differential. It is just the cclip part of the design of the 8.8. differential that has flaws.

No problem.

Brain fart. I forgot the 9" setup doesn't have C-clips.
