Should I expect frame damage from this accident?
Hi everyone, last Wednesday, I got into an accident involving my 2012 Roush1 Mustang. I was approaching a slight curve at 35mph, and long story short, a downshift sent me spinning 360 to the left. I hit the curb parallel to the passenger side...and this is the damage so far according to the adjustor...
-Air deflector of the lower radiator
-Both passenger front and rear wheels (reconditioned OEM)
-Valve stem for both passenger front and rear wheels
-Disc Rear Brakes, both driver and passenger
-Dealership check front suspension, measure before attempting alignment
-Dealership check front passenger tire
-Dealership preform additional operation to rear passenger tire
-Wheel balance/Mount
-Align 4 wheels
-Dealership diagnose rear axle
-Dealership diagnose rear axle binding
Dealership started to look at just the rear suspension and here is the damage they found...
-2 Rear Axles
-Seals
-Bearings
-Rear Rotors
-Caliper Brackets
Now ultimately, I'm very concerned if the frame has been damaged. Do you guys think that with this damage to the suspension, the frame has been compromised to? If the suspension was just damaged, then the car should be back to new but I'm afraid that if the frame has been damaged, the car will never be the same again, as many people have said. It kills me because the car is 7 months old, 4,219 miles only.

I think you are fine. Have they measured the front suspension?
The dealer should be able to tell if you have problems, alignment wise, which can indicate either damaged suspension parts or the frame not straight.
If you really want to check out the frame, take it to a body shop that specializes in frame work and have them put it on their alignment rig and measure it. If they find anything, your insurance should pay for the repair, though probably not the cost of checking it.
If it has some damage, it is all very correctable. even twenty years ago, I wrecked a Nissan Maxima pushing the front end back 18 inches and sideways 6 inches. I was horrified when they decided to fix it. I worked next to the body shop and the owner was a friend so he let me watch.
He told me that the car companies had a set of measuring points stamped on the bottom of the car and the tolerance was 1/4 inch. Since he worked to 1/8 he believed that the car would be straighter than when it came from the factory. I put another 60,000 miles on it and it drove and handled just like new. The tires wore evenly--No reason not to trust the car.
Since then, the advent of laser measuring tools and 20 years increase in technology makes modern frame straightening a fine art.
Sorry about your car.
I hope this is useful

Your Stang has no frame. The rear axle attachment points have
no adjustment to them. The front end as well...
Toe is about all that can be adjusted without slotting mounting holes.
If anything is twisted, your door alignment should show it.
Whats the condition of the consumable from lower reverse L arm?
If any mounting points have been compromised, it will show with
blistering paint around the attachment points.
I dont see enough damage to thing the body is out of whack.
I would be checking the panhard bar and its attachment points.

For Stage 1 Roush's, the 20 inch chrome rims are only an option, not standard equipment. I choose not to get the 20 inch rims, because I'm not a fan of
chrome. I also like the wheels that come with the Brembo Package.

Hello again everyone...I have a little update on the Stang. I received a revised estimate(supplement), and here is the damage accordingly:
Deflector, Radiator Lower Air
Wheel (Passenger sides)
Valve Stems (Passenger sides)
Hub, Front Wheel Right Tire
Lower Control Arm (Front Right)
Rear Axle Shafts (Left and Right)
Rear Axle Bearings (Left and Right)
Rear Axle Seals (Left and Right)
Rear Calipers
Rear Disc
**Check Front Suspension, measure before attempting alignment**
**Brake Bleed**
**Check Passenger Tires**
**Align 4 wheels**
**Diagnose Rear Axle**
**Diagnose Rear Axle Binding**
**Wheel Balance, mount and balance 2 wheels**
All in all, the damage comes out to slightly under 4K.
As for the Body Shop the Mustang is at, honestly, I'm disappointed to say the least. The car has been there for 13 days now, and all through that all that they have done was diagnose the damage. The parts have not even been ordered yet.
What really concerns me the most is that, If I'm not following up with them, they will not call me to let me know whats going on. I have to initiate the call, usually with a question of some sort, only for them to go, "oh by the way, the adjuster came 3 days ago, you have a revised estimate". I don't know if I'm being unreasonable, but it just seems ridiculous to me that I always feel out of the loop.
I've also tried many times to request to go in the shop and see how my Mustang is doing, talk to the mechanics who are working my car, and hear their input rather than just talking to the lady working the front desk. I've been refused that 3-4 times already, stating that, "we cannot have the customer in the shop for liability reasons". I can understand that they don't want to be liable for a customer getting injured, but I feel lost on whats going on with my car. I have not yet spoken to any mechanic regarding my car to see how its doing.
This all in all makes me feel unfaithful sometimes about where I brought my car. I'm trying to stay positive but I don't feel taken care of, nor do I feel that my cars being taken care of. How am I supposed to know the credibility of the mechanics repairing the car, when it seems that their off limits to speak too.
I'm sorry for complaining and ranting, I'm just a worried and concerned owner. I love my car, and I only hope the best for it.
Does anyone have experience with the All American Ford of Old Bridge in NJ shop?

well, you have the parts list. have your insurance pay them for diagnostics and tow it to another shop that will order and work on it asap.
I wouldn't put up with a shop that wouldn't send me updates or allow me to speak with the mechanics.

Am I allowed to do that? I suggested something similar to my mother, but she said we would pay an enormous amount of storage fee to Ford. The car was sitting there for 13 days, 14 days tomorrow.
