Default So I just snagged a 2013 GT Premium 6 Speed

After spending $3,000 in mods on my 2011, the last of it installed Yesterday I decided to trade my 2011 SGM GT prem Auto, that had 19" Charcoal American Racing Wheels, Pypes Cat back System, Powerstop Slotted Rotors (Front) DBA slotted rotors (rear) and Hawk ceramic pads. For a Silver 2013 GT Premium 6 Speed Manual with Track Apps.

Have to start the upgrade process all over again.

Gains VS Loss

Gained Track Apps

Lost Heated Leather Seats (2013 doesn;t have it, 2011 did)

gained HIDs

lost 19" AMR Wheels (replaceable)

Gained 6 speed manual (meh, transmission doesn't impress me, but living in Philly an Automatic is way more appropiate)

Lost my awesomely responsive 6 speed automatic (I had it tuned)

gained 3.55 Rear Axle ratio (Major plus, my 2011 was 3.15)

Took it for a test drive, scared the hell out of the salesman when I punched it in 2nd at 45 and the wheels started spinning.

Some Pics

My 2011

It was a 65 mile ride from Dealer back to my house, so I will say it seems to ride smoother than my 2011, but this also has 60,000 less miles on it.

I had a 2012 GT, and I loved the adjustment for steering and headrest, something the 2011 lacked, but I gained back with the 2013. I love the new taillights, just not 100% sold on the new front yet.

Lost- a whole lot of money. I don't get it. The 2011 looked nice. Did you actually get enough for the 2011 to pay it off?

You should have just had 3.55's installed on the 2011.

Some folks just like that new car smell....and are willing to pay for it. I'm trying like hell to stay away from the area Ford dealers until the 2015 comes out.

I paid $19,000 for the 2011 with 44,004 miles on it. in 4 months I ran it up to almost 60,000 miles. (I drive 90 miles one way to work)

The rims and tires were about $1,000 (installed) (The tires were from a 2013 take off, paid $300 for them)

Brakes were $902.00 (installed)

Exhaust parts and install $925.

Because of the mileage the KBB book value was $15,113 (good condition). Milham Ford gave me $18650.00 with the mods. Got the 2013 for X-Plan price, plus an additional $2750.00 in rebates...

$1500 Rebate on car
$500 Grad discount (just got my Masters degree)
$750 for something else (can't remember what it was, almost an owner loyalty, but not)

MSRP (sticker) was $33585.00 - rebates - Xplan - $18650 trade + Extended Warranty $795.00 FMC Prem Care (need it with mileage I drive), when the deal was done I wrote them a check for $11,642.18 (I also got the dent and ding plan)

No Payoff, car was PIF. I don't buy on credit.

So where was the 2012 in all this? 90 miles one way to work is ridiculous. I'd stop spending money on cars and buy a house closer to my job. Either that or spent that $11,000 on a more practical daily driver and kept the 2011.

I would have kept the 2011. It looks better, better color. I'm sure the 3.15 gears are a dog, but that can be changed for $500.

Moose,

I work as an Independent Contractor, so all my mileage is reimbursed. I also get a per diem of $200 per day that i can use to stay in Hotel/eat while working M-F

180 in miles per day @ 0.555 per mile = $99.90 per day + $200 per diem. I make just shy of $1500 a week in mileage and per diem, plus my Gross pay is just shy of $3k a week. I chose to drive it because I take the PA turnpike and can get from NE philly to Lancaster in about an hour and 20 minutes. I leave at 5:30am and get to work between 6:50 and 6:55 every day. My drive home takes about 90-100 minutes but I am not whomping on it going home.

One of the other reasons I drive it is because I want to retire at 50 I have 8 years and 8 months left until then... I live off my per diem and mileage and bank the paychecks. Yeah I blow through cash on the cars, but I did get a settlement in 2011 and I want to enjoy life because you can't take it with you... so if I go dead broke buying cars... I don't care. When it is time to go I wanna be able to say... "It was a great F**King ride".

The 2012 is now gone too, sold that to a private buyer about 10 days ago.

Dude! way to do your bit for the economy, grats! That 11 does look wicked but, I'm sure you'll figure out how to do that to the '13 as well.

Well I have 3 days or 500 miles to decide if I want to return it... Usually 3 days /150 but since I lived further away they gave me til 500.

I went out this morning and shot a video about the car, was trying to use my Tablet to find rims and tires that would look good on it, but with the car being silver nothing was grabbing my attention as of yet.

So I may take it back and swap it for the Candy Red Metallic, which was my first choice, but it had 3.31 gears and this one had 3.55 gears.

I thought the silver would look good, but it looked better on the 99-04 SN95's it doesn't quite work well with the S197s, at least not with the new front end, which is taking me a lot to get used too. I know people love it, but I look at it and think maybe I made a mistake.

I think the overall package of Silver with the stock Silver 18's is what is throwing me off, and this car really needs 19's or 20's on it to stand out properly. The front just overpowers the rest of the car.

Was talking to a guy at the WAWA in Quakertown, and he was oogling, but to me, the front end reminds me of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. He was on and on about how sharp it looked.. I was like Meh, showed him a pic of my 2011 and he was like DAMN.

I know it is going to need to be striped, and the hood vents changed for starters. Rims will definitely need to be done but AM canceled the AMR 19" and 20" machined face wheels, and I don't think the Charcoal will work on Silver, maybe the gloss black? I was also looking at some deep dish style.

I will figure it out.

I definitely love Mustangs, and I had fun with it today. Going easy since it now has 228 miles on it. However I opened it up a bit on the PA turkpike... definitely needs the exhaust mods. (I should sneak back to the dealer and steal my exhaust off the 2011... =O), but the paid for it so it is theirs)

It has its ups and downs. When you can walk into a parts store and just begin modding the hell out of your car it is nice, but again... I just thorw money away. I literally spent close to $100,000 on cars in the last 13 months.

I crafted up some You Tube vids of both cars...

Here is the 2011

Here is the 2013

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWSOe...ature=youtu.be

I did perform one mod.. The Gloss Black and Competition orange plenum and coil over covers... I had them sitting in the house and put them on the car, they came off my 2011. The Gotta Have it Green ones went with the 2011
