Default No more Mustang

Well on my way to work yesterday I was involved in a very bad accident. I was traveling northbound in the inside lane approaching an intersection and a small white vehicle darted across the other side following that vehicle was a Silver Dodge Durango. Well the white care made it across the highway I was traveling on, then the Durango pulls onto the highway heading north also. Mind you the roads are wet and its a 55mph 4 lane devided highway with a grassy median between north and south bound lanes.
As the Durango turned left onto the highway in the outside lane she lost control of her vehicle and it started to fishtail crossing over into my lane faceing the center median. There was no room for me to change lanes as there was an ABF Semi next to me a little bit behind me in the outside lane. Anyways I hit the brakes and start to swerve to avoid the collision but the driver of the Durango was already blocking both lanes at the time so I slammed into the rear drivers side.
All I can remember from the accident was pulling to the side of the highway and smelling a horible stench like my car was on fire.
I luckly was able to open the door and get out.
Police came and ambulances transported me to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Durango was cited for failing to yield the right-away

As for damage to my vehicle, well the engine block was cracked everything was pushed into the firewall, trans fluid and oil all over the highway. The car has to be totalled but I have to wait for the adjuster to look at it.

Heres photos I took with my cell phone

The ABF truck behind me stayed with me to report the accident to the state troopers

what a heartbreak to lose a car. i couldnt imagine the feeling, but at least insurance will take care of it. At least youre okay, the car can be replaced. Maybe a 2013 is in the works now? best of luck

The important part is you're OK, and let me say this, if you were able to walk away and snap a picture of the car right after the accident... then that my friend is a safe car and should give you every bit of reason to buy another just for the safety alone.

You'd be surprised what they'll fix on a car that new. New engine is only $6k and that's retail.

That was very considerate of the truck driver.

No, I wouldn't want it, but what you want and what the insurance company is willing to give you might be two different things.

After seeing those new pics, I think it might be totaled.
