I'm gonna go out on a limb here. Why don't you ask to look at the motor? If he's a buddy then why all the questions here?
The general concensus here is that it's a 6'er, which will be come painfully apparent to all around it when he fires it up.

Because we moved to different cities after college for work. I just saw it on bookoftheface. Curious, but not enough to drive there, and didn't want to offend.

Or at least not without good cause.

It is a poser, the car in the picture is a v6.

This differences could get very long but in short...
The v6 has a 4.0L V6 engine, tri-bar running horse fender emblems, black rocker panels, single exhaust, and more.

The GT has a 4.6L V8 engine, "GT" fender emblems, body colored rocker panels, dual exhaust, and more.

The GT500 has a 5.4L Supercharged V8 engine, Cobra fender emblems, heat extractors in the hood, and more.

The 2005-2009 base V6es do not have fender badges.
Only the PonyPackage models came with the holes in the fender for the
badges and the tri-bar badges.
Look underneath the rear end. Does it have a sway bar?
If so, its a PonyPackage. If not it is a $18,087 base V6.

I Roushed the sheit out of my base V6 and it came out pretty nice.
If Roush makes it, it is on my stang. Cost an arm and a leg but
hey, you only go around once and the modding was oh so fun.

Please get a picture of the rear end. You just know it has single exhaust. LOL A v6 posing as a GT500.......only a kid in high school would think that was cool.

That's mustang rice, the worst kind of rice.
