Default Advice needed (car shopping)

Hello I was wondering if you guys could tell which of these is the better deal.

I just want a GT instead of a V6 so I have decided to sell mine and purchase a GT. The problem is I am stuck on the decision between three models and I honestly don't know which one to choose.

A 05 GT has a 4.6L V8
A 04 GT has a 4.6L V8
A 98 GT has a 4.6L V8

Which of these models has the better engine, acceleration, and overall top speed and what is the difference between each of these years engines and transmission besides the body being redesigned?

What is the difference between the sound profiles vs years and the overall tone if I slap a slp loudmouth or bassani exhaust on either of these?

Thanks

The only step up is the 05 GT really IMO. The rest are really a huge step down in power and such.

A GT is great, and much better than the V6, IMO, but out of those choices, I agree the '05 is the only real smart choice if anything.

Go for an '05+ GT.

So let me get this straight, your going to sell an '07 for a older model??? That to me at least does not sound like a step up, but a step back as far as mileage, condition, resell value is concerned.

If your serious about it, I would get at least a lower mileage '07 GT or newer. not older....

Newer is better, out of those 3, the 05 would be my pick but if you can get newer go for that.

The reason I chose an 05 GT is because the insurance on an 05 is only $148 with full coverage 50K/100K/50K plus 50/100/50 uninsured motorist.

2014 GT 50/100/50 $1,313.61 $223.47 a month
2013 GT 50/100/50 $1,265.76 $215.96 a month
2005 GT 50/100/50 $926.27 $159.38 a month
2005 GT 50/100/50 $861.09 $148.52 a month (No rental/No roadside)
2005 GT 25/50/15 $869.65 $149.95 a month
2004 GT 50/100/50 $903.97 $155.66 a month
2004 GT 25/50/15 $847.35 $146.23 a month

My 2007 v6 right now costs $152.46 a month with only the coverage of 25/50/15 and I can assure you I have a clean driving record with no accients or tickets in a very long time. I'm also not a high risk driver, because of my age.

Now you see why I have been sticking around 05's and 04's.
I'm not gonna pay $223.00 a month to drive a 5.0 + 220 in fuel a month thats a new car payment almost and then some. My 07 V6 only costs $32.50 to fill it completely up with 87. I wonder how much a 05 GT costs from E to full

I'd imagine that an 07 vs an 05 GT would be a $30-40 increase on monthly insurance. So I'll happily drive an 05.

Sure, buy an 05. Get peeling door panels, fubbarred steppers in your gauge cluster and a water leak. The last did not occur on my stang, but I have the peeling door panels and the fubar gauges.

07's and up fair a lot better.
