Question Insight on SF3 and JLT CAI?

I got my 2006 GT a few weeks ago (the only aftermarket parts I'm aware of are the Pirelli tires), and I am on the fence about buying an SF3 tuner and possibly a JLT CAI. I don't race or anything, my mustang is my everyday driver. I am however, interested in improved performance and gas efficiency. I'm just not sure if it would be worth it to shell out the cash on something I don't need. Can anyone give me some insight?

I have an '06GT that's my DD as well. You can forget any mileage increase, unless you ask for an economy-specific tune. That sorta defeats the extra performance part of the tuner, though. Anyway...I put a JLT series 3 and got the SF3 from BAMA, and have ran a couple of different tunes. The performance increase is nice, as is the better throttle response. Is it worth the cost? That's hard to say, it's very subjective. I'm pleased with it. If you plan on doing any mods, you'll need the tuner anyway.

Thank you for the response, John. I am glad to know it's appropriate for a daily driver. I suppose I'll just have to think about it for some time.

Read my reply to your other, similar post.

As far as "gas efficiency", you bought a Mustang. Fug economy. We buy these cars for the wood they give us, not fuel economy. You want to save money? Instead of buying Starbucks coffee, make your own. Instead of drinking soda, drink water. Instead of buying that Happy Meal, pack your lunch. You'll save more money than a measly 1-2 MPG improvement will. For fuel economy, train your foot.
