I used the RTV method.
I put the cover on loose contacting the

the bolts as per Fords instructions.
No leaks here.

If diff gaskets did not leak, Ford would be using them.
Ford will use whatever is cheapest that is good enough, that's rtv apparently. If a lube locker leaks, then you did something wrong.

Paper is always cheaper than RTV.

From the reviews I've read about the Scott Drake Cover, it sounds like the bolts provided are too long, and although they are tight/snug when installed, they're actually just bottoming out.

The solution from what I've read is to either go get more spacers/washers or shorten them with a grinder. I purchased my scott drake cover but have yet to put it on(was going to do it this weekend).

Don't know if you'd want to try one of those solutions first or not.

Paper probably leaks. The lube locker gasket is not paper. Have you even used one before? I doubt it. No need to respond, because you have made it to my ignore list, congrats.

I've seen and had nothing but problems with Drake products. YAA, they look fit and finish type quality but never judge a product on how good it looks that's just going to bite you in the *** later down the road. I remember hearing an issue with those diff covers as well, something along the lines of the metal becoming warped in offset places. I don't know how they would become warped w/o seeing some extreme heat, then again it was only through the grapevine.

Well, we took the cover off, resealed it. with RTV, still found leaks. So we did the washers... it leaked. Put omse thread sealer on the bolts, then it started leaking from the fill plug... finally said F**K it, and since I already ordered a FRPP cover, we just put it on, problem solved. but we did try to save the drake cover.

POS is what it is. RMAing it back to AM

That unit was definitely a POS. I got lucky with mine.

Always use the rtv method and you wont have leaks. I never use gaskets; only ultra-black rtv. Never had any leak issues.
