How to tell what gears are in my 2012?
I just bought a preowned 5.0...no window sticker, not small sticker on the pumpkin...nothing. Is there an easy way to find this out without taking the rear end apart? It is a premium GT/Brembo Package.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Jack the rear end up on stands, put the car in neutral, mark your tire and your drive shaft, now turn the drive shaft and count, example- every three turns of the drive shaft and the tire turns a half turn, then you have 3.55, if the tire turns 3/4 then you have 3.73, 4 turns of the drive shaft and one complete rotation of the tire then 4.10, this is a easy way to tell your self, could always run the vin number though and see what it came from the factory with

On my '13 there was a sticker on the diff housing. It was visible without jacking the car up but you did have to get down and crawl under... It's now been removed as I have 3.73s. If you're thinking of swapping them out, if I had it to do again I think I'd go with an after market 3.90 gearing. But I don't use the highway to get to work so consider where you'll do most of your driving.
