Clear Valve covers
#11
I was thinking if we could find enough people interested, maybe have people send money via paypal to some account, then once it reaches $5000 get them to make them and then 20 of us could have some very cool valve covers

I don't see heat being an issue, and with the oil being warm it should run off for the most part leaving the covers fairly clean as long as you keep up on your oil changes. I have a clear clutch cover on my motorcycle (most bikes use a wet clutch for those who don't know) and the only issue I have with that is if it sits for a while it will have condensation on it until its hot for a good 15-20 minutes. Check it out.
Still looks like new and it sees plenty of oil.

It's a novel idea, but with the architecture of the car, I think that you wouldn't be able to see much, especially when running. I have seen some guys with diesel trucks with clear diff covers and it's pretty BA...especially after sitting for a while and the diff fluid drips down.

I saw some clear-topped valve covers on some pro street car with a BBC on something like Hot Rod TV years back (a guy made some with Lexan tops or something), when the car was running all you could really see was oil. I can think of better ways to spend $250 too.
