Default Possible 09 GT500 purchase, help please.

I currently drive a 2011 5.0, but my car is the base model. I want the upgrades of a premium. I have always wanted a GT500 or a Roush, I came across a GT500 listing for a pretty good price. Can someone give me some advice on it. I would have posted in the Shelby Section, but it appears it doesn't get too much action...lol.

I want to know what to look for, to make sure it's not a clone.

From what i have read, a good way to tell is the all GT500's will have brembo brake upgrades, as well as a 6 speed transmission. As well as the tach and speedometer being switched on the dash.

Can anyone give me any advice on what to look for?

Thanks.

A four valve 5.4L engine would be one thing. I think there's something you can look for in the VIN number.
Other than that it's the little things, all the right badges (fender snakes, faux gas cap, the medallion on the steering wheel air bag, the grille emblem), the right body parts and paint scheme (headlights, front bumper, rear bumper, spoiler, grille, bottom of rear bumper left black, etc.

A true Shelby GT will have a badge on the driver side valve cover saying who built it by the SVT team. Here is a picture of what mine looks like on my 08 Shelby.

I have a friend with a 2011 GT500 for sell if your interested. Only 6k miles, red with bigger black stripes. Very sharp looking car. He is in tax but I have a friend that owns a car hauling business that can give you a good deal to deliver.

Good luck on your search brother.

I've seen pics of the motor, looks like a 5.4. I can also see the SVT plaque on the drivers side valve cover. The only thing that I am questioning in the pics is a Shelby lettered logo on the RIGHT side of the trunk. I have read that they came on the driver side. But I also read that owners have moved them all over the place. I am checking out the car this week. But has anyone seen this?

Thanks.

Just get the VIN and look up the window sticker.
