Default Convertible top; clamp/clip issue

So when putting up the convertible top on my 2006 GT, my son didn't wait for me to pull the top all the way down to the windshield frame, and tried to manhandle the passenger-side clip/clamp into position. The stamped steel piece that is attached to the windshield-side mounting point popped right off (crappy design). I was able to put it back into position and bend the tabs so that it is usable, but it is loose.

Any thoughts on whether I should try to bend the tabs with tools to get it back into place, or should I just replace the whole passenger-side mounting piece? Looks like just a couple of screws/bolts hold the whole thing on?

grrr.......
