Default $30,000 huh?

Ok, so I was helping a friend find a car and we stopped at a huge ford dealer in Michigan. Well, I stumbled upon a 2008 premium gt with a Saleen supercharger and only 11,000 miles on it, nice looking car, orange with black stripes. But when I asked him how much they were asking because I was curious, what he said shocked me. He said, "we are asking $30,000". And my reaction was, um why, lol. Anyone else see a problem with this price? I feel like they are trying to rob people, or does it seem reasonable to you guys?

Just bought a used Mustang and from what I saw, I am not surprised that this is the asking price at a dealership.

I bought an 06 with 48k miles. It had the Shelby CS8 body panels / wheels package installed and a whipple with many other aftermarket/FRPP suspension/brake parts installed. It had some leaks and a wreck in its history, but was well repaired. I bought it for $15k which is a steal in the Phoenix used car market.

So 2 years newer and 1/4 the mileage on an official tuner package car, I bet it would sell for $25k after negotiation. Esp. in Michigan where (economy excluded), people are open to spending big bucks for a tuned mustang.

Can you edit your posts on this forum? Don't see a way, anyway just reread first post and I assumed it was an official Saleen package, if not the price is high. But still not surprised Dealer is asking that price.

Dealers can ask whatever they want, and some certainly do. I've seen a lot of dealers with all sorts of cars that were (IMO) unreasonably priced. I figured they do this with the assumption someone will come in and lowball them but they still make a tidy profit due to the inflated price.

Yeah, I am sure it was the Saleen package, man to me even 25k is a lot. Hell I wonder what they would give me for mine then, if the price is right, maybe I could get into a 5.0 lol.

I can see that price if it was a saleen/panelli jones edition, not sure if htey made them in 2008 though. Otherwise it's just wishful thinking and lot candy.

Well I would hope people do the darn research so they know they are asking to much, but then again if you have money to burn, you might not care.

This!

IF it were a serialized Saleen (which it's not) then we might be somewhere in the ball park but a GT with an aftermarket blower...$20k max
