I do wish I could have been driving it more the last few months but I'm ok with the outcome. The service department at 5 Star Ford in North Richland Hills is outstanding and I would highly recommend them!
That is awesome news, CharliePapa!

You should bring it in to your local Ford Dealer and have them check the whine, clowe1965. The Service Manager is in the best position to let you know if there is work needed, and about coverage you may have for it (warranty, recall, etc.). Let me know the outcome.

Had a '92 Fox Body manual. For 30K miles, never had a problem with the shifter although it was a notchy/goofy shifter by desigin.

Had an '08 GT manual. From almost day one, it grinded 2nd-3rd gear every morning before the car warmed up. Then it went away and couldn't be fixed.

With the hit and miss stories on the 5.0 manuals, you couldn't pay me to gamble with a manual GT. Luckily I don't want to drive with my left foot anymore, so I'll be getting an automatic.

It's done it somewhat since day one. First time it went to the track it got louder, but since then it hasn't increased. No mod has changed it for the worse and not all of them were applied at once. The shifter combined with switching to amsoil trans fluid quieted it down about 1/4-1/3 of the noise level it was at. Zero problems shifting, If you want something loud come drive my truck with a hole in the floorboard, listening to an old t5. No whine but all sorts of other noises.

Thanks Deysha but for right now its not bothering me and I enjoy driving it too much to give it up. I have another question I'll PM you about though.
