2010 gt, its one of a kind, gas mileage is around 23 hwy, 18-20 combined, 5 speed, 331 gears. does not really wake up until around 2800 rpm.

The answer to your question is simple... 2011+ 5.0. The power difference is staggering in real-life. Not to mention the sound that the coyote makes is intoxicating. I like the 4.6, but the time has passed on that engine.

One of a kind? LOL. 23 HWY mpg? It is time for you to climb out from under that rock you live under. The 5.0 coyote has arrived.

Thanks for all the feedback. One more question: I've driven a six speed and clearly am looking for one, but how much does having the automatic effect performance?

It depends what you are looking for. The 2011+ automatics can handle enormous power, I think up to 650+ RWHP, and they shift faster than anyone can shift a manual. So, for drag strip and fastest race times the automatic is actually better. If you aren't that into racing, like to shift gears, or just like a challenge then go with the manual.

If you don't have any issues with the body style changes, then the 5.0 is a hands-down winner.

I've owned a 3V Mustang and a Coyote. I definitely recommend the coyote car. It's just a better foundation.

I bought my '11 GT Premium in May. I really wanted a 2010 or newer, love the body style, but wanted the proven reliability of the 4.6 instead of the new, unproven, first model year Coyote. I test drove a '10 GT base with 7k miles and fell in love, but they wouldn't do me a deal on my trade in AND it was $1500 more than the '11 I ended up with. My '11 was a match made in heaven for me...I drove it and instantly fell in love. Fully loaded minus track package with 46k on the clock, I bought it that day. I'm at 54k now and have absolutely zero regrets, I love this car. The engine pulls and pulls, it seems like it never stops. Also can get 26mpg pretty easily on the highway if I can keep my foot out of it. Overall, I'm very glad I ended up with this car vs the '10. My only gripe is the whiny MT82...

412 HP vs. 315 HP. No brainer.

There is more to it than that, but that is the biggest reason I think. I wish they would've kept the Tremac 3650 though

Premium fuel on the 2011 get you 390 tq, 335 on the 2010. Quite a difference, but not enough to make me purchase the 5.0.

If you want to talk reliability; how long has the 5.0 been around vs the 4.6 (ahem, police, taxi)? Well we all know the answer there.

On a subjective note, the 5.0 just can't make that deep tone like the 4.6 <<<< Coming from a guy that could have bought anything he wanted, I bought 4.6 mainly due to sound and I really didn't want another 6 speed manny like my Focus ST had. Five is enough on the street as it was on the track when I was running one 6 years ago.

Not taking away anything from the 5.0. Just not my choice.
