Yep, it's very common in the 11-14s. I had to take mine twice to get it fixed. The first time they fixed it in fords quick lane and the second they actually did it in the service department. They put a new valve in the second time. Doesn't change the way I feel about mine. I still love it!

I had a 2010 GT with 3.73 and 5speed
It was a GREAT car and with my JLT intake, 93 Tune, Exhaust, steeda light crank pully it was plenty powerful for me i never go to the track just cruised it. I traded it for a 12 WRX that i hated everyday of my life for the 19months I owned it. I recently bought a used 12 GT with only 2900miles on it and has the 3.31 gears and 6speed. Its a great car but in all honesty if i woulda found a good deal on a 10GT I wanted i would have been just as happy with that one as well. The 12 is faster then my old one but the old one had more bottem end punch feeling with the 3.73 gears

I agree with you 05xrunner. Before I bought I drove several 2011-2012's as well as a number of 2010's. Obviously the 5.0 is faster but in the world I live in the 2010 GT with the 3.73 was more than fast enough. That and 6 grand are the reasons I bought my 2010 GT. And oh yes I do love it.

The whole point is with the lower compression engine with the 4.6, back in the day Supercharging was so much cheaper. I ordered my 2006 with premium package interior minus sub woofer for a total of 29,700.00.

Then for a total of $6100.00 I had the Saleen Series SC purchased and installed along with the complete saleen suspension.

My car still weighs less than the 2011, with the same front to rear weight ratio, and has been on 12 lbs of boost for a long time and has 480 rwhp.

I have never felt in any way jealous of the high compression 5.0, and the doubled prices to make any real improvements to the 5.0........ Erik

$6100 is going to get you a hell of lot more than 480 rwhp on the 5.0L. You also can't compare a 2006 price with today's price without adding in inflation. The Mustang has remained just as affordable as it was in 2006. So $6100 that you spend back then would also be closer to $8000 today.

The only good argument for a 2010 over a 2011+ is if you picked one up when the prices tanked after the 5.0L was announced.

Not sure what you are saying. You paid $29,700 for a GT in 06ish... The same price people could get the 5.0 in 2012.

That's an apples to apples price comparison. The price of an optioned GT didn't go up significantly between the two models.

Then you say, "doubled prices to make any real improvements to the 5.0."

Now.. the stock comparison between what you get with the 4.6 and 5.0 is not apples to apples.

With the 4.6, you are starting with around 300 hp from the factory. With the 5.0.. you are getting over 100 more HP from the factory than you got with the 06.

So... you get around 100 HP for "free."

To get a 4.6 just up to the stock 5.0 you need FI (or a ton of money if not FI).

If, lets just pretend here, you waited to spend that 29,000 on a 2011 GT... and then spent the $6,100 on the 5.0 instead of a 4.6... you would have a better car for sure. Hell.. you could spend half of that on a 5.0 and make more power. Just some exhaust work and a little spray on the 5.0.. for a fraction of what you spent, would put the 5.0 on top.

All because the 5.0 is "high compression" and wouldnt like as much boost.. doesn't really matter... especially when the 5.0 will make much more power on less boost, comparatively.

Not trying to beat a dead horse.. or argue the merits of either car, but you made a HP to cost comparison.. so that is what I am responding to.

The 4.6 is an awesome.. nearly indestructible motor.. and I have much respect for it. It also sounds better than the 5.0, imho.

Well, I just spent $25,250K for the car I have with EVERYTHING listed in the mods section, 1 owner, and 24k miles..... So I suppose I got a good deal, lol.

Wow, awesome car! But it seems like a ticking time bomb if you don't address the stock bottom end. That doesn't worry you?

Wheels are nice too; is it a Brembo package?

I bought my premium packaged 5.0 for $30,100 and that's only because they added $500 more because it came with the rear sensor package otherwise it would have been $29,600.

No, doesn't worry me. It is at the cusp of where you would need to look at that. It was built professionally by LaMotta and I'm comfortable with it.... So, I don't feel my car is ticking time bomb.

The car is a originally a Brembo package car, however the wheels are 2010 GT500 wheels.
