Am I getting to old?

Am I getting to old?
Hey guys, I just wanted some opinions on this. I know its hard to tell the "health" of someones motor, but I am approaching 90k miles on my 06 4.6L auto. I am going to be keeping the car for awhile as my daily, but Im not sure how much money worth of mods i should put into it due to the miles. Do they last a long time?(I always use mobile 1 full synthetic 5w20, and do all general maintence) I know the older transmissions on sn-95 autos were ehh, how about s197s? Ive heard stories of people pushing high miles with mods with no problem, but I figured Id ask on here anyway. I just dont wanna dump money into mods and then hit the 100k mark and start running into problems. LMK what you guys think, thanks.

Like anything else, it's all a crap shoot. But the 4.6L has a decent reputation compared to most any domestic engine of decades past. Quite a few here are modded and have 150k miles with a few folk over 200k miles. Unlike my previous 5 Toyotas that went well beyond 150k miles and 3 into the 200k mile realm, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed with my Ford products. Mod away and enjoy!

if treated right and all the fluids are change on or ahead of schedule maintenance requirements, you should be good to go.
i drove a 2001 5.3 , with a supercharger on it ( installed at 20K ) and i put 450 thousand miles on that truck. truck made 30 trips to daytona and 27 trips to colorado all towing my toy hauler... it never broke and never stranded me... but im **** about maintenance.. i'll change my tranny fluid 3x a year.
i just hope my new to me 09-GT is as good as i think it is. i've done all the fluid changes, check the oil daily ( to see if its using or burning any ) so far everything looks A-ok.
so in a nut shell, I SAY MOD YOUR STANG.

The only thing i havent replaced yet is the anti freeze or trans fluid along w my thermostat. Bought the car with 77k has 89k now so idk if either or was changed. Id like to add a few more things including gears, as long as she holds out and it wasnt a waste

colant should be good for 110k, but your close to that so change it now. T-stat is a good idea also.. trans fluid is a must. . i still say go for the mods. i plan on doing a supercharger in the spring. and my car just turned 80k

Just installed the trick flow pan on mine, I went with it as it was cheaper and didn't stick as far down as it has 2 extra qt. vs. 4 on the PA pan.
BTW, given the crazy high used car pricing, you might want to consider selling your car and just buying new.
I would guess you could get at least $11-12k for your car if in nice shape. Start throwing parts on it and you could easily spend $8-9k, esp if you pay someone to do the work. So that is $20k.
In the last couple months I twice turned down the opportunity to buy new on the lot 2013 Convertible GTs for $31k before tax & title. And one of them was a Premium.
I still went with a used car because I only plan to put 5-6k miles on it a year and AZ registration fees are based on vehicle value. But I thought long and hard about just buying new.

91K? It's just "broken in"! LOL!!! I just passed 212,000 miles on my "06 GT and she's still running strong. Oil/filter changed every 3000 miles. Hell, I just changed the original plugs at 209,000 miles. I plan on keeping the car a long time. Drove my 70 Chevelle for 36 years before I purchased the GT in March of 2006, and the original 350 in the Chevelle had over 345,000 miles before I swapped it. The secret is regular oil/filter changes, AND don't be afraid to drive it!! :-)
