I'm glad to have found this thread. My new-to-me '07 has been irritating me when it comes to the throttle, but then again this is my first MT with no mechanical link to the pedal. I've learned quite a bit from this thread - and now, I'm just hoping a tune will make it operate the way I'd expect!

I have a 2008 GT. When I took it for a test drive I noticed the rev.hang when I shifted. The salesman said they all do that. We took another mustang out and he was right same thing.I bought the car put a CAI intake on it and a Bama Tune. The tune removed the lag.
It was worth the money just to get rid of the lag, not to mention how much better it performs.

Time to update an old thread... Over time I got pretty use to the hanging and it stopped bothering me as I learned how to shift this car smoothly. I did end up getting a SCT tuner and just used the canned tunes which make a noticeable difference. I do wish they would get rid of what I assume is the torque management which feels kind of like turbo lag though.

Do the custom bama or steeda etc tunes do a Better job of this. Anyone actually ran the canned sct tunes and then switched?

Oh and one more thing I did that made a huge difference was getting rid of the dead spot on the gas pedal, the first little bit of pushing the pedal did nothing. I looking at bending those tiny little wires in the gas AP electronics and using the so called 3m tape shim method but decided to thread in a set screw (bolt) throughout the back of the pedal. Works awesome, throttle blips are so much easier to control for rev matching etc.

as has been said already, the "rev hanging" is par for the course on modern cars. letting the throttle snap closed will briefly starve the engine of air and it'll burp out excessive HC and CO.
