Thanks, but all it seems to show is that by droping the straps the tank should lower a bit anyway.. just need like an inch or so to get that ucl bracket out, but it's like the tank is still bolted on.. I can hang on it and it doesn't move 1mm!!! At this point I think I'll just use the stock UCL bracket. I think my problem was the stock ucl's rubber bushing, and the factory mount should be fine.

That's why on my uca, i used the stock bracket and just replaced the arm.

But per he diagram, the 4 straps should loosen the tank.

That's weird. I was able to lower my fuel tank a bit when I installed my UCA and new mounting bracket a few years ago. Loosening the straps was all it took.

?? diagram I'm looking out there is only 2 straps; 1 per side, and that's all that is on my car.

I think some of the tanks get the coating stuck to the top of the sheet metal. I dropped mine many years ago but I also had some trouble getting it down after the straps were removed. How much gas is still in the tank, I hope it's almost empty? When you do get it to release be careful, as it will drop fast.

Well.. as luck would have it, I shipped the ucl bracked back, then that evening as I was trying to get the bolt attaching the stock ucl to the stock bracket out.. the %$#^% gas tank came loose and dropped down! guess it just needed a little persuasion to work loose. Now I need to ask UMI to ship the link back (once it gets to them) *sigh*

Weird when I installed my BMR upper control arm bracket I didn't have to mess with the gas tank.... is there something different about the UMI bracket???
