Default My Track Pack GT doesn't have Track Pack.

Sigh...

Long story short, my GT came from 500 miles away. I waited 3 days(an eternity) for it. I discussed the options several times with the dealer, whom I had a wonderful experience with.

I've had it for 4 days now and absolutely love it. While doing some mod research for another thread, I was searching for suspension information. I ran across some other forum links that discussed the Track Pack vs BBP, which I had no idea even existed as a separate package.

Come to find out I have the BBP instead of TP. Now I do have 3.55 gears which is nice but for only $400 more, I would've gotten 3.73, Boss radiator, Oil cooler, Torsen rear end. The more I thought about it, the more my heart sank.

I don't plan on going to the track every weekend so 3.55 is fine with me. I can live without Torsen. I checked on the oil cooler and upgraded radiator and it's $900 just for parts... Disgusting.

So I made a trip back to the dealer who admitted they too thought the car had TP and were unaware BBP existed separately. They have another just like mine with TP but with the mods I've done and 150 miles... I doubt they'll swap at this point.

My compromise suggestion was to let me pay the $400 difference and get the oil cooler and upgraded radiator through ford service. I would keep the 3.55 and lose out on Torsen for my part of the responsibility. They would get me these parts at cost for their part of the responsibility. My hopes aren't high but I should know more Monday.

So you ordered a particular car and the dealer did not deliver there end of the bargain. Your much calmer than I would. Id throw the owner the keys and ask where is my car

The BBP (code 55D) has been around since 2011 And the Track Pack (code 55R) was added in `13 so the dealer has no excuse for not knowing about these separate options.
On a side note this isn't such a bad thing.
I can tell you from all the reading I have done on tracking an S197 that the parts in question aren't going to make or break your track experience. In fact the 3.55's you have are better for track purposes then the 3.73's would have been (minus the torsen).
Hope the you and the dealer can come to an agreement.

Well it wasn't exactly an ordered car. I just told them what I wanted and they said they'd get it, not build it. Like I said, I did sign the paperwork so I do have responsibility here.

I agree the parts wont be a huge difference on the track but even for a daily driver, it doesn't hurt to have better cooling. For $400, I don't think you could beat the upgrades I would get. That's why I'm hoping they hook me up here. Basically I get a 3.55 Track Pack. Perfect in my book.

Did the paperwork say Track Pack or BBP? If it says track pack.. that's what they owe you.

It doesn't matter if it was ordered, or if they found a car that supposedly met your requirements. If your paperwork says track pack, I would talk to them. 150 miles or not, they should be able to do something for you.

surprised a dealer doesn't know? You can tell that the BBP and track pack are separate options in the 2013 brochure. I guess dealers may not always be into their product.

If you plan on going to the track you wouldn't want the track pack anyways. The Torsen differential isn't meant for the drag strip.

Agree, track pack is not for drag strip it is I think more of a road / oval track race course option.

The dealer is either stupid or lying if they say they did not know.
And if you sent away for a car from a dealer 500 miles away and did not look at the window sticker before signing, you were not careful, and the dealer owes you nothing, unless the window sticker has track pack listed as an option.
Lesson to all check everything before you sign anything, let the buyer beware.
