Yes, most of the pictures are of the front edge.

I've been told several times "This is the worst I've ever seen". Always followed by Ford denied your warranty claim.

3 guys on another forum have found this problem on their cars; (2 OF THEM LESS THAN 3 MONTHS OLD) in the last 3 days because I end every message on that forum with this:

This was brought up a long time ago. I don't think anything was done about it then and likely not this time. Doesn't hurt to try. It depended on the dealer then. Some did replace while others didn't.

Yeah, it's a problem with aluminum hoods and the fact that any contamination prior to paint will result in the bubbling. I know I had heard of people that actaully got the dealership to do something... that something was to repaint the hood, that didn't go so well and most reported more bubbling later on the repaint, since local body shops aren't as clean an environment as the ford factories.

I think Ford will get the aluminum painting thing figured out since the F150 has an aluminum body now... I can't imagine the flack they'll get if the F150's end up needing paint after just a few years.

best bet, order a pre-painted fiberglass hood from American Muscle.

I strongly urge all Mustang owners to go out today and check your hoods.

If you find the bubbling, please take it to the nearest dealer and have it documented and submit a warranty claim.

Don't use your own money to fix Fords' problem!

I don't have it on mine. But I do have a cautionary for ya'll. Yesterday I was washing the car and had the wipers up when I opened the hood. Bad idea. The drivers side wider jammed against the hood edge and chipped the paint. First chip on my paint job . Not real bad or noticeable, but I know it's there....

Make sure your wipers are down before opening the hood....

the corrosion warranty for 2010 Mustang is 5 years/unlimited miles. The guide says "perforation" so they're probably looking for an actual hole in the panel, but IMO corroding from the inside out might as well be perforation. You can't fix that, only replace.

Perfectly logical argument to everyone except Ford Warranty decision makers. I had a bumper to bumper CPO warranty, I figured at the very least it should be considered a "paint issue" and covered by warranty. Not to mention it should have never passed their "stringent" CPO standards. Corrosion like I have didn't just magically happen overnight.
