No solutions though, other than replacing hood with an after maket one.

Only wish I had done the research before purchasing my Mustang. Really didn't buy the car with the idea that I'd be stuck with it. I can't even trade it in unless I take $2000 under KBB lowest trade-in value for poor condition because of the hood.

What will the body shop charge to fix it. I had a new hood prepped, painted and installed for less than 2k.

It will be interesting to see how the new "all aluminium" F150 corrodes. When I look at the busses locally, they are full of corrosion. I guess the longer you keep it - the better the fuel economy will get because it is continually losing weight LOL.

I have a 2010 gt also but no corrosion since I bought it new. Right at 80000 miles. I would be just as pissed though if I bought a car new and it did that.

I have an '06 GT, Satin Silver, and the hood is in sad shape. I had it fixed twice under warranty, years ago, and now its worse than ever.

There is a facebook group I joined concerning this issue, alot of tough talk, etc, but nothing went through.

I might have the whole car re painted in a couple of years anyway to a different color.

Most of these cars have this problem, but its weird that some do not. My co worker has a tungsten GT, '06, not one blemish on his hood. But, his is garaged, mine is not...

Only quote I have for a replacement hood is from a dealer, $2600.00 for new hood and repaint.

Service Manager told me it would be just as likely to happen to the new hood too.

Joeroy, did you ever have it looked at by Ford? Did you just notice it or have you always known about it?

I don't think that makes a difference. It's hit or miss and luck of the draw.

I ordered my 2010 GT from Ford, it's always been garage kept and it has 7100 miles. I noticed my corrosion a couple months ago or so.

I think it has more to do with the prep than the way the owners are treating it.

I think you're right on the hit or miss nature. My 2006 didn't show any signs of the problem - not until I had almost 190,000 miles on it and 6 years of time.
