Default HID help!!

I have an 08 gt and i have the aftermarket headlight assembly. The raxiom non projector halo ones. I bought an h13 hid kit and the bulbs did not fit the housing. They are very loose in there and wont snug up. I bought two different kits and the same problem occurs. So I basically used silicone and put the bulbs in the housing and it seems to have worked fine for months. However my passenger side ballast keeps blowing. and it looks like i have no headlight. the driver side is fine and works. ive replaced the ballast 3 times and every few months it blows again. what in the world is causing it to go bad continually? i did switch the ballast to the good side and the bulb didnt light up. and most importantly....what bulb is the correct bulb to fit that housing? it seems like the 9008/h13 doesnt fit whatsoever. any insight will be greatly appreciated

you're not supposed to put HID capsules in housings/lenses not meant for them.

if you must have HIDs, you need these things:

1) housings/lenses meant to be used with HIDs
2) the proper HID capsules matched to the housings
3) quality HID hardware and not that junk you find on eBay.

done properly, HID headlamps are fantastic. problem is most people don't do it properly and buy some incredible pieces of junk off of eBay.

The ballasts keep blowing because they are cheap made in china knock off junk. OEM HID's are way too expensive so I gave up on the idea altogether.

Even the more expensive HID kits blow ballasts. I have a friend whom bought a so called reputable kit that was not cheap. He has replaced both sides in under a year. IMO don't bother, just get some sylvania bulbs.

I've been using an HID kit from RetroSolutions in my '06 Mustang GT for 100K miles with zero issues.
Getting ready to install one in wife's '08 Miata GT.

the only stupid people are the ones putting HID capsules in housings not meant for them.
