Angry Question about a hood

I have had paint bubbling fixed at least 3 or 4 times on my '06 GT hood. I'm done.
Does anybody know if anybody sells a fiber glass hood that looks like the original hood? I don't want anything weird, I just want it to look like my original hood.
I'm really surprised there is no class action suit against Ford about these crappy aluminum hoods.

Considering this is still something that happens on current day aluminum hoods from Ford I'm surprised too that there hasn't been more action taken against them. Imagine what the new F150 is going to be like. The entire truck is aluminum!

This (the first one) has definite possibilities.

I had a 2014 explorer in the shop last month for some back end body wok and I noticed some corrosion already showing on the front edge of that hood.
It was obvious too...

Yeah, a class action law suit is in order and long over due.

aluminum is highly reactive but actually is fairly corrosion resistant due to the fact that the instant it's exposed to air it forms a flash coat of stable aluminum oxide. When aluminum corrodes badly it's usually because another metal is touching it. Aluminum wheels in the past used to corrode badly because they had those tap-on wheel weights with steel clips; the steel clips would constantly abrade away the protective aluminum oxide and wreck the underlying metal. Once the industry went to stick-on weights, wheels stayed pristine.

if an aluminum body part (or body assembly) corrodes, it's most likely because another metal (or dust from another metal) was trapped in a place it couldn't escape from.

class-action lawsuits have turned into nothing more than bull****. Most of them are filed by lawyers who then go fishing for clients afterwards; and the only ones who benefit are the lawyers. The "plaintiffs" get like a $25 coupon or something like that.

I hear ya "other" jz. I'm just saying that clearly Ford is doing something wrong with all the aluminum issues. I also have a Freestyle that has the aluminum hood and it too has the corrosion. With Ford now going to an all aluminum vehicle if they don't improve their process I can see a lot of unhappy F150 owners.

Check the inside lip of the trunk lid and the inside lip at the bottom of your doors too. You may see the same bubbling problem.

The thing is, they do have a "body" warranty and a lot of these problems arise after the warranty runs out. Then you are SOL. Sure, you could sue them anyway (see my handle for a clue as to what I do for a living) but Ford has unlimited resources to fight. Probably the best settlement us 05-10 guys could hope for would be a couple grand off the price of a 2015.
