4.6 Gas Mileage
#11
28-30 is possible if you drive a full tank and a constant 45-50 MPH and this would be not stopping at all.
on another note I do not trust the Mustang computer. But by manually calculating MPG, the highest I have ever seen (by my own calculation) was 28.7 MPG for a tank of gas. This was on the Natchez Trace with a speed limit of 50 mph and I was trying to get gas mileage. 87 tune, lowered, cat deletes, not running AC (fall time but before winter mix gas), cruise control and no traffic.

There is no way you get 31 going above 70. End of story. Not being a jerk but that is not possible with the 4.6.

LOL, sounds like downhill and with a tailwind the whole way, while drafting a big-rig...

Some people are just better drivers and actually pay attention to their mirrors than others.

Just an update: city driving mileage is about 13 mpg. I did not buy a 4.6 V8 5-speed not to get on it, so that's not conservative driving stoplight to stoplight. Also, the car is responding to being driven by performing better. I've run two tanks of 87 octane gas thru it since I bought it on Saturday. I intentionally ran the tank down until the warning light came on to get all the old gas out of it. I'm guessing less used fuel injectors are responding to detergents in the new gas. Is anybody using a product like Seafoam gas treatment to keep up performance?
