Default Speaker noise/buzz

I have 2010 mustang gt recently developed a driver door speaker buzzing. It doesn't do it all the time but it will do it on satellite, am/fm, aux and will stop if I hit the power button. It started after having a viper remote installed and that company says its not related to the remote start. I've had it in to ford service and they'd don't know. I've replaced the speaker and had service install foam tubing to door trim panel based on a TSB I found on the mustang forums. I have no aftermarket stereo equipment. It only does it sporadically so service has not heard it but I've recorded the noise and played it for them.
Any ideas?

It's either a loose wire or a blown speaker. What you are hearing is electronic feedback thru the speaker

I've replaced the speaker thinking it was blown but the noise continues. Maybe loose wire but service technician said he when he took door panel off he looked for anything that looked loose. Don't know how to proceed at this point.

It could be a crimp in the wires in the door hinge, or the wires coming out of the back of the radio, so check those before spending more money on it.

Well, if it started after the viper remote was installed and it did not do it before, it sounds to me like they need to do some more checking or disconnect their remote and see if the noise goes away.

that sounds like "GSM chatter." GSM phones (like AT&T and T-Mobile) use a particular frequency to negotiate with towers, and it's extremely common for that noise to be picked up by stereo systems. It's almost impossible to shield against because it gets picked up by the speaker wires and demodulated by the radio amplifier's negative feedback circuit.

If it started doing this after having the remote start was installed, then it must be related. It'd be worth finding out how the remote and the module in the car communicate with each other. I don't think there's anything Ford can do for you.

This is assuming, of course, that the stereo is working normally other than this chattering noise.

Does your viper have the "cell phone" remote? Can you post the model number?
