send them back to wherever you got them from for a warranty exchange and then seal the edges of the new lenses with "clear windshield RTV"(Permatex #80050) to make absolutely certain the things are sealed.

I have removed the tail light - i noticed it was a little loose, and i re installed it nice and tight.

should the water be able to dry out in time and evaporate through the lens? or will it be trapped in there forever?

Looseness with the mounting hardware will not
cause a properly sealed light fixture to leak.
Each bulb holder should seal up tight with
a rubber gasket. The rubber vent grommet
should also be present and intact.
Replace the light housing, make sure the
bulbs are it tight and sealed and all
should be well...
